Company Background: Smurfit-Stone Containerboard Mill Division in Vernon, CA. This plant is one of the largest paper mills in Southern California and also co-generates 1.4 mega-watts of power from it's process.
Challenge: To Upgrade an old TI5 PLC system running the Co-Gen operation with a new Allen Bradley PLC5 System. The new
AB PLC needed to communicate with the existing Foxboro System.
Solution: Control Concepts pre-engineered and re-wrote the old program for compatibility with the new system. The PLC and all wiring was preengineered and built on to a back panel in our UL508 panel shop. We went out, on a 2 day shutdown, and installed and commissioned the system. The job went flawlessly and the customer was very satisfied with our work.
